Welcome to Mailivate

How Mailivate is organized and which setup path to follow before you send.

Mailivate is one workspace for lists, campaigns, automations, and transactional (app) email.

You cannot send until the right domain, sender, and account checks are in place. Start with Quick start, then Send your first email.

Pick a sending path

I want to… Use Domain to verify
Newsletters, promos, welcome series Campaigns and automations Marketing subdomain such as news.acme.com
Password resets, receipts, alerts from my app POST /api/email Transactional domain such as acme.com

Most teams verify both. Mixing them (campaign From on the root domain, or API From on news.) is the most common send failure. See Sending domains overview.

What you will use in the app

  • Lists — Subscribers, tags, segments, and default From / reply-to
  • Campaigns — One-time sends to a list or segment
  • Automations — Triggered sequences (subscribe, tag, webhook)
  • Templates — Reusable designs for campaigns
  • Transactional — Log of app-triggered mail and named templates
  • Settings — Domains, approval, suppressions, account defaults

Before anything will send

Campaigns, automations, and transactional API sends need account approval (Settings → Request Approval).

Campaigns and automations also need:

  1. A complete business address
  2. An active paid plan
  3. A verified marketing domain and a From address on that exact host

Transactional API sends also need a verified transactional domain and an API token.
