Onboarding and subscribe forms

Double opt-in, confirmation emails, list HTML forms, and the Forms product.

Onboarding controls how new subscribers join your list. For branded embeds, popups, hosted links, and conversion stats, use the dedicated Signup forms product under Forms.

Subscription settings

In List settings → Onboarding:

Single opt-in — Subscribers are active immediately after subscribing
Double opt-in — Subscribers must confirm via email before receiving mail

Double opt-in improves list quality and compliance in many regions. Forms inherit this behavior from their target list.

Confirmation emails

Customize the confirmation and welcome emails subscribers receive. Use merge tags for personalization ({{ subscriber.first_name }}).

HTML form snippet (advanced)

Onboarding can generate a raw HTML <form> that POSTs to your list’s public subscribe URL. This is useful for custom-coded sites.

For most websites, prefer Forms → Create form for:

Templates and branding
Popup triggers
Hosted form URLs
Views / submissions / conversion stats
